The Saskatchewan-Waterloo Games User Research (SWaGUR) program is the first Canadian graduate program to address the demand for skilled games user researchers in industry and academia, providing students with essential skills for a GUR career path. This NSERC sponsored interdisciplinary graduate program was developed to train students completing their Master’s and PhD degrees with the necessary technical and professional skills to become a games user researcher including game design, the game development process, player experience, basics of motivation and enjoyment, evaluation, analytics, statistics, quantitative and qualitative methods, and experimental design. The SWaGUR program can be taken with a variety of Master’s and PhD degrees across different disciplines.
