Important update about the 2022 #gamesUR Summit!

Dear #gamesUR Summit family,

With the omicron variant of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continuing to spread in North America, many large-scale events and conferences are canceling or postponing to keep prospective attendees safe. After much discussion, the 2022 #gamesUR Summit Committee and GRUX-SIG Steering Committee have made the call to move the #gamesUR 2022 North American Summit online.

This decision was not made lightly. We understand and are sympathetic to the fact that the pandemic has caused economic strain and uncertainty for many businesses around the world. We also understand that many of you were looking forward to finally meeting in person after two years of wonderful online events. We know that the move to an online format may be a disappointment, however, the health and safety of our attendees, especially those with at-risk health conditions, is our top priority.

We also realize that ever evolving treatment and prevention measures might mean that the Omicron wave is a thing of the past by the conference date. If this is the case, and we sincerely hope it is, we will still be hosting the conference online. The Summit Committee is firm in the decision to move online so that attendees, sponsors, and vendors can adequately adjust their plans.

We thank you for your understanding and patience and send our best wishes for happier and healthier times,

The #gamesUR North America Summit Committee
